Creative Interventions, LLC has been providing services specifically to children on the autism spectrum and their families for five years. Creative Interventions, LLC is an agency dedicated to improving the lives of children on the autism spectrum. Each child with autism has a unique package of strengths and needs. Carefully planned intervention that is both educationally sound and creative, allows each child to reach his or her goals. This program is designed to develop a child’s skills, to train families to implement programs and to allow the children to function as independently as possible in the home, at school and in the community.
The services delivered are based primarily on the principles of behavior analysis. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is scientifically proven as an effective treatment for children on the Autism Spectrum. Applied Behavior Analysis is the science that studies how environmental factors (antecedents and consequences) control an individuals’ behavior. Research has shown that Applied Behavior Analysis is effective in treating the cognitive, language, adaptive, social and academic deficits in children with Autism. ABA can also be used to decrease or extinguish challenging behaviors such as stereotypy, self-injurious behaviors, pica, food aversions, aggression, tantrumming, and noncompliance. An ABA study developed at the Wisconsin Early Autism Project (2005) (Madison)1 documented that 48% of all children showed rapid learning, achieved average post-treatment scores, and at age 7, were succeeding in regular education classrooms. These results are consistent with those reported by Lovaas2 and colleagues3.
